After the huge success of O3 Gallery’s ‘Ethical Fashion Fest’ in March which formed part of Oxford Fashion Week 2011, the gallery made a commitment to continue its support and encouragement of sustainably produced fashion and design. The O3 Ethical Fashion & Design Project, a not-for-profit initiative launched by O3 Gallery in it’s quest to champion locally made and fairtrade products is now in full swing…. last week saw the launch of two Ethical Events:

Crafty Networking Event

A social event which brought together Oxford’s vibrant craft community. Attendees included, professional contemporary desinger-makers, members of the Oxfordshire Craft Guild, buyers from local shops and galleries, as well as design/making enthusiasts looking for information about local workshops and top tips from the professionals!

The Craft Boutique

A stylish boutique event which tackled the frumpy connotaions of the word craft head-on by showing how fresh, elegant and exciting the hand-crafted products of local contemporary designer-makers are. We were delighted to host the following work by local designer-makers in this 1-day demonstration and buying event:

  • Made by Loulabelle
  • Cross stitch with Lisa Sleeps
  • Liliia, bespoke couture by Vikki Lafford
  • Up-cycled Fine Art Jewellrey by Tamsin Leighton-Boyce
  • Fragments by Wendy Hughes
